Finalists at the EDP Food and Drink Awards!
On Monday we attended a glittering awards ceremony with Simone, the head teacher from Pulham Primary School, the EDP Norfolk Food and Drink Awards. We were there as finalists for the Best School Project as our ‘Our Pulham, Our Norfolk, Our School’ project.
Held at Open in Norwich, we donned our glad rags and mingled with over 250 guests from the local food and drink industry.
The competition was stiff and all finalists were worthy of one of the coveted prizes on offer. Our allotment project, teaching children about the importance of sourcing locally, food miles and cooking and creating dishes was up against Parkside School and the White Lion Café and the Cromer Academy, both running projects that inspire and educate children in the world of food and hospitality.
Parkside School were the winners; with a project we can all aspire to. The White Lion Café offer valuable work experience to senior pupils as well as growing produce for the school, a yearly bake off competition and a breakfast club.
It’s great to be recognised as a finalist in a fantastic category and as the project develops over the next year, we’ll certainly be entering again!
