The Crowning Glory – Norfolk’s Best Pub
In only its third year of trading after opening up to the public again following a considerable makeover after its long period of closure, The Crown Inn, country pub and kitchen in Pulham Market near Diss has been chosen to represent the county of Norfolk as a finalist in The National Pub and Bar Awards 2017.
The Crown will now go forward to the finals being held at the BAFTA theatre in London on the 23rd May. They will compete for “best in the region” before the announcement of the overall UK winner for 2017.

The entry was submitted online and judging done discretely with no announcement of a visit so it came as a surprise to all when the county finalists were announced.
Jon Bingham, owner of The Crown “This award is very pleasing and a testimony to the ongoing care and attention taken by all team members at the pub to deliver consistently high standards. Being a free house we can choose the best ales and wines to stock and a real effort is made to sell local and themed beer and to change them regularly. All of our food is freshly prepared on site and the menus change often to keep ingredients seasonal and available to source locally.”
The Crown has several bar areas and a central original 16th century fireplace, with a real fire in the winter months. With many nooks and crannies there is room for couples wanting an intimate drink, space for business meetings, families with children and well-behaved dogs are welcome too with doggie treats offered to all furry friends. Bar meals are served in all areas 7 days a week and there is also a separate 50 seater restaurant which is also available for private hire.
Jon along with business and partner Amy will be attending the finals in London - wish us luck!
